“A riot is the language of the unheard” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

“He who comes to a conclusion when the other side is unheard, may have been just in his conclusion, but yet has not been just in his conduct” ~Seneca

“Through pride we are ever deceiving ourselves. But deep down below the surface of the average conscience a still, small voice says to us, something is out of tune” ~Carl Jung

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me” ~Jesus Christ

in the noise of silence is the voice unheard,
not spoken from mouth, nor evoking word,
hidden behind high gates within the depths of the heart,
emoting anguish and despair; tearing the soul apart,

while in sound its silent, there’s a numbing of the skin,
as emotions overwhelm all senses from within,
its prisoner, detained by deception as wisdom naps,
freely accepting false truth, for prior tribulations trap,

seeking to calm the violent storm inside,
following fruitless attempts to run and hide,
fear consumes futures possible each ending day…
…until succumbing to love and the will to pray,

a holy healer answers anguish as silence cries,
no more drowning within despair—its river dries,
for love can be felt, and its voice heard even when unsaid,
an offering from on high, as though risen from the dead.

fear, at its strongest, is but a temporary distraction,
for, with courage and trust, love always leads to action,
